Lowercase Sessions 1 is the first EP by the melodic ambient rock alternative band Grand Trunk Travellers.
Songs created from some melodic lines and an acoustic guitar, embellished with Karl-Johans voice, an electric guitar, some glockenspiel, the beautiful voice of a singing sister, maybe a banjo or a pump organ, and some pounding drums, and why not some tones from an upright piano?
The musical collective Grand Trunk Travellers, led by Karl-Johan Jonsson, captures the listener from the very start with the song Moses to the last ringing tone of the closing song Losing The War.
With his characteristic voice, Karl-Johan brings his lyrics to life, backed up by his twin-sister, Martina. Her husband, Simon Walther, adds some extra magic with his experimental guitar and banjo, while his brother, Harald, adds some pump organ and backing vocals. Some glockenspiel and shimmering piano makes it all sparkle even more, while the grinding, vibrant rhythm-section, by Anton and Jonatan, holds it all together.
This is the first EP in Grand Trunk Travellers’ series Lowercase Sessions. A collection of songs that takes you on a journey through suggestive, dynamic and dreamy soundscapes, paved with innovative features from the whole rattling band.
